Once you get to that point than slowly cut back even more until eventually you are eating something much healthier. The trick to eating better is to make slow changes and not dramatic changes over-night. Most people go very extreme when they are trying to lose weight and they drop all sweets from their diet only to make it a week, and when the plan fails, they in turn end up binging for a week straight. This is counterproductive, so make slow changes and it will help over the long run.

After you have figured out what sweets you are going to cut back on than you can move to step two. You need to be lifting weights if you really want to shed those unwanted pounds. The good thing about lifting weights is that the more muscle you gain the more calories your body will burn at rest. For every pound of muscle that your body gains it will need to burn an extra 50 calories just to maintain that muscle. So if you were to gain ten pounds of muscle and keep your diet the same, your body would be burning an extra 500 calories which would help you lose the fat even faster.

While it’s very important to weight train and choose your food carefully we can’t forget cardiovascular exercise. Doing cardiovascular exercise will help you burn that fat off and also keep your heart and other organs really healthy. You should be doing some type of cardio at least three times per week. You could do this cardio at the gym, or you could get involved with some type of physical activity. Whatever activity you choose to participate in you should be getting at least 20-30 minutes of this cardio in at least three times per week. With these three steps you should have no problem shedding those unwanted pounds.
